Symptom
When trying to activate FS Pro 2013, you get the following error:
Sorry, it is not possible to continue.
At start of FS Pro 2013 the following problem has occurred. The file C:\Program Files (x86)\Information Mapping\FS Pro 5.0\Data\fspro.lic could not be accessed. Check if the file is write-protected.
Solution
Proceed as follows to resolve this error:
Step |
Action |
---|---|
1 |
Click End to close the activation window. |
2 |
Navigate to the directory of the fspro.lic file as shown in the error message (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Information Mapping\FS Pro 5.0\Data or C:\Program Files\Information Mapping\FS Pro 5.0\Data).
Note: You may need admin-rights to perform the following steps (especially step 5). |
3 |
Right-click the fspro.lic file and select Properties. |
4 |
If the file is Read-only, uncheck the Read-only checkbox on the General tab. |
5 |
Click the Security tab, and give the Users (group) Write access to the file. |
6 |
If the step above did not solve the issue: check if you have write permissions to the Program Files/Information Mapping folder. If you don't, ask your administrator to give you write permissions to that folder. |
7 |
Activate FS Pro 2013 again. |
