Summary
The Save as Web Page function converts a Mapped Word document to a Web page (HTML file) and allows users to control the format (the look) of a Web page by attaching a style sheet during file conversion.
Recommendation
We recommend using the FS Pro Publish function instead of Save as Web Page or Save as Web Page on the Word File menu.
FS Pro converts a Mapped document to a Web page more effectively than Word does.
FS Pro
- saves the file in pure HTML so that it is better accessible in other systems
- generates output with smaller file sizes than Word, and
- is aware of FS Pro’s structured elements, such as Blocks and Maps, enabling structured content output in the HTML files.
Word saves the file as WORDML that has proprietary Word information in the document that other systems may not recognize.
