I don't see the FS Pro for Word menu

Background

FS Pro for Word is a Word add-in. When Word or FS Pro crashes, Word may disable the active add-ins (or ask if you want to disable them) and remove the FS Pro for Word tab from the Word Ribbon.

Please do not uninstall/reinstall FS Pro for this issue as this is probably not necessary.

 

Solution 1: Enable the FS Pro for Word add-in in Word

When you don't see the FS Pro for Word add-in in Word, try this solution:

Select File > "Options"

From the "Options" screen click "Add-Ins" in the left menu.

If FS Pro for Word is present in ... Then ...
Disabled Application Add-ins
  • Select Disabled Items from the Manage drop down list and click Go...
  • Highlight the "...Information Mapping..." entry in the Disabled Items dialog, and
  • Click Enable
  • Click Close
Active Application Add-ins
  • Go to "Manage"
  • Select "Go

  • Select 'FS Pro for Word' and the 'FS Pro for Word Assistant'

  • Click "OK"

 

Solution 2: Register FS Pro manually

The FS Pro for Word tab may not be visible because it may need to be re-registered as follows:

Exit MS Word/ FS Pro

Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Information Mapping\FS Pro 6.0

Double-click the file "Register FS Pro Addin.bat" to execute it

 

Result: A Command Prompt window will appear

Press any key to close the Command Prompt window

Restart FS Pro for Word
