Where is this setting located?
IgnoreTableStyles settings can be edited or added to the SystemSettings .dat file located in the folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Information Mapping\FS Pro 6\Data\
If you don't have a SystemSettings.dat file and want to know more, you can read this article.
What is the default value?
When the SystemSettings.dat file or parameter does not exist then
the default value is: false
How does IgnoreTableStyles false work (FS Pro version 7.0.3.15+):
<Setting>
<Name>IgnoreTableStyles</Name>
<Value>false</Value>
</Setting>
When applying a style set with the Style Manager to a document.
- All Text: Table Header, Table SubHeader, Table Text
- Shading: Header Cells, Subheader Cells, Content Cells
- Borders: Out and Inner Borders
Will be changed to match the new applied style set and all newly inserted tables will also have that style.
How does IgnoreTableStyles true work (FS Pro version 7.0.3+):
<Setting>
<Name>IgnoreTableStyles</Name>
<Value>true</Value>
</Setting>
When creating a new document, it is important to start with a correct Style when this option is turned on!
Behavior on table shadings and borders:
Because the software can not detect if the shading or border colors have been manually altered, they will remain the same even if another style set has been applied or the current style set has been edited.
After a new Style set has been applied or current style set has been edited, only newly inserted tables will have the newly applied border and shading colors.
Behavior on Table Text (Table Header, Table SubHeader, Table Text):
When applying a style set with the Style Manager to a document.
All Text: Table Header, Table SubHeader, Table Text will be changed to match the new style set unless the style of a text has been manually changed.
When applying a new style set, all newly created tables will match that style set.
Summarized:
- Table Text where the style has been manually altered will not change, other text will change when applying another or an edited style set from the Style Manager.
- Table Shading and Borders, when applying nothing will change, only new tables will have this style.
