How FS Pro for Word works
FS Pro for Word is a Microsoft Word add-in that runs locally on the user’s PC and uses Microsoft Word’s built-in functionality. Its standard document-processing functionality is performed locally.
Internet access
By default, internet access is only required to securely verify that the user has a valid software license. No documents or document content are transmitted to or stored on our servers as part of this process. The software can continue operating offline for up to 14 days.
Alternative: License Manager
Alternatively, organizations can use a local License Manager, in which case external internet access is not required for license verification. Click this link to learn more about the License Manager.
FS Pro Cloud
FS Pro for Word also offers optional cloud publishing functionality, depending on the FS Pro license type (Standard or Business). This functionality
- is not required for normal operation
- is never used automatically, and
- can be completely disabled by the customer’s IT administrator.
